Who we are

Pick the site is a service of Goldcote Ltd, registered in the British Virgin Islands (“we”). Write to us at hello@pickthesite.com.

What you get

A free website on an address you choose under a pickthe… domain, and a panel to keep it up to date. When we offer paid extras, each shows its price before you buy. We may improve or change the service; we tell you by email about changes that matter to you.

Your sign-in

You sign in with links sent to your email address. Keep access to that inbox: whoever can read it can manage your website.

Your business and your content

You confirm that the business is yours, or that you are allowed to make its website. What you publish must be true, legal and yours to use: texts, photos, names and logos. You are responsible for your website and for answering the requests sent through it. The imprint and privacy texts we create for your site are templates: check that they fit your business.

Not allowed

• scams, fake businesses, misleading prices or reviews
• asking visitors for passwords, card or bank details
• illegal goods, services or content
• hate, harassment or violence
• adult content
• malware, spam or anything that harms visitors
• pretending to be another person or business

Reports, claims and pauses

Anyone can report a website or claim a business. While we check, we may pause a website; we remove websites that break these terms, at once if visitors could be harmed. A business can take over a website made in its name: the address it publishes confirms it, or we check by hand. We tell the owner by email, and you can always answer.

Directory and search engines

Once you confirm your email, your website appears in our directory and search engines may list it. You can switch the directory off in your panel.

Your data and your visitors

Our privacy page explains what we keep. Your website sets no cookies and uses no trackers. What you do with the requests your visitors send is your responsibility.

Fees

Your website is free. Paid options are paid in advance and never renew without your consent; monthly options can be cancelled at any time.

Credit for the assistant is prepaid. Each message costs the price shown next to it, also when it only answers a question. Credit doesn’t expire while your website exists; if we ever end the service, we refund what’s left. The assistant only prepares changes: nothing goes live until you apply it.

The Studio design is paid once, before it’s made. It includes one design of your whole website and one round of changes; it goes live only when you apply it, and you can switch back to your free design at any time. If we can’t deliver it, we refund the full price.

Ending

You can remove your website in your panel at any time; it is then deleted. If we ever stop the free service, we tell you at least 60 days ahead and help you take your content with you.

Liability

We run the service with care, but we can’t promise it is always available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are liable only for intent and gross negligence.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and tell you by email about important changes. Swiss law applies; the courts of Zurich are competent, unless consumer law says otherwise.
