When you make a website
Your email address, the business details, texts and photos you add, the address you chose and when you accepted our terms. In the panel, a cookie on app.pickthesite.com keeps you signed in; nothing else uses cookies.
Visitors of the websites
Websites made with Pick the site set no cookies and use no trackers. We count page views per day as a number, never a person. Requests sent through a website’s form go to its owner, in the panel and by email. To stop abuse we keep a salted, daily changing fingerprint of the IP address for a short time, never the address itself.
Spam protection
Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks the browser and sets no cookies in our setup.
Who helps us
Cloudflare (hosting, database, photo storage, email forwarding, Turnstile), Resend (sending emails), Stripe (payments: we never see your card) and Anthropic (the assistant and the Studio design: your message, your website’s content and, for the Studio design, its photos are sent to its model Claude, and aren’t used to train it). They process data only for us. This can include servers outside Switzerland and the EU, with the safeguards the law requires.
How long
As long as your website exists. When you remove it, we delete its content, photos and requests; backups disappear within 30 days. Of the emails we send, we only keep that they went out, never their content.
Your rights
You can ask what we keep about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use: write to hello@pickthesite.com. You can also complain to the data protection authority (in Switzerland the FDPIC, in the EU the authority of your country).
